A manual toothbrush is not useful for a person who has a problem of arthritis or dexterity.
Battery-Powered Toothbrush
This type of toothbrush is bulkier than a manual tooth brush due to in-built AA batteries integrated into the unit for operation. The bristles differ and few rotate, while the others simply move to and fro in a gentle manner to facilitate cleaning of teeth.
Some of the battery powered toothbrushes are featured with bristles at bottom of brush, which has to be used just like a manual toothbrush, whereas the upper side bristles rotate in a circular manner. This type of toothbrush cleans teeth very efficiently in comparison to manual toothbrush, but the bulkier base may not be comfortable.
Sonic Toothbrush
Advanced model toothbrushes make use of sonic power to brush the teeth. Instead of moving or spinning in a prearranged manner, the bristles shake strongly to remove any hidden debris and plaque, which are hidden in the corners of teeth. With the help of other toothbrushes, teeth are cleaned wherever bristles touch.
But, in case of sonic toothbrush, teeth are cleaned wherever the bristles find debris. This type of toothbrush is more powerful than Battery-Powered Toothbrush since it is wired and plugged to a household outlet.

This toothbrush is made of small piece of plastic, which has bristles at one edge. They are dieal when toothpaste, toothbrush, and water is not simply available. After having a meal or any food item, you need to just take a chewable toothbrush and chew it for some time, and just spit it out.
